Nelly Korda produced a dominant wire-to-wire victory at The Chevron Championship at Memorial Park Golf Course on Sunday to claim her third major title, beating Ruoning Yin and Patty Tavatanakit by five shots.
The 27-year-old was imperious throughout all four rounds, as she advanced to finish the week at 18-under par, and will now overtake Jeeno Thitikul at the top of the Rolex Women's Golf Rankings
Such was her dominance, Korda had equalled the record-low 54-hole score coming into Sunday's final round, leading the field by five shots.
"That was a hard weekend," Korda said. "Honestly, having that big of a lead, it's not easy. It was definitely one of the hardest things I've had to do mentally.
"I have an amazing support system. An amazing family who are right behind me. An amazing caddie who is on the bag. And I'm just happy to get it done."
She started strongly, going two-under through her first three holes, as Yin and Tavatanakit attempted to cut into the American's lead.
Korda appeared to be battling with her putting coming into the weekend, with the American admitting she had returned to the practice green after her third round to work on her short game.
The same issues appeared to present themselves on Sunday, with Korda missing a birdie putt on the second hole and again on the par five eighth.
She would two-putt on the par four 12th, making a bogey to give Yin and Patty Tavatanakit a small glimmer of hope.
But the unflappable Korda showed her composure, bouncing back with a pair of birdies on the 13th and 14th, to move to 19-under par and on track to equal Dottie Pepper's record low score of 269.
A birdie on 17th would see that record slip away, but it did not bother the American, who smiled as she strutted towards the tee on the final hole.
Korda then found the green with a brilliant approach on the 18th and resolutely drained a long par putt to secure victory.
"Honestly, what I was telling myself is, 'I really want to hoist this trophy because I want to show the kids at home that it's OK to miss short putts and still win a major championship'," Korda said.
"'You're going to do it. You're going to make mistakes, but you still have to be at 100 per cent'.
"That's really what I wanted to show. I wanted to show it to everyone looking up to me."
It is her second victory on the LPGA Tour this season, with Korda having enjoyed an excellent start to 2026, claiming victory at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January.
Thailand's Tavatanakit started the day five shots back from Korda at 11-under par and battled hard to cut the gap between her and the American, but would ultimately finish three-under for the day.
England's Charley Hull shot into the top-10 after 15 holes, but bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes saw her end the day at level par and T10 on the leaderboard.
