Papers: Three-man shortlist emerges for Chelsea job

The top stories and transfer rumours from Tuesday's newspapers...

'Newcastle to explore Wissa sale less than a year after 55m move'

Newcastle will explore selling Yoane Wissa in the summer, less than a year after joining in a 55m deal, according to The Athletic.

It is claimed Newcastle are now actively looking to move Wissa on, but the striker wants to stay at St James' Park.

The 29-year-old has struggled since joining Newcastle on Deadline Day after a protracted move from Brentford.

He has scored just three goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this season for Eddie Howe's side, with only one goal coming in the Premier League.

Injuries have plagued his short time at the Magpies, but Newcastle are reportedly now actively looking to move Wissa on in the summer window.

The report says Brentford included a 25 per cent sell-on clause in the 55m deal agreed last summer.

Marseille boss expects way more from on-loan Arsenal Nwaneri

The loan of Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri at Marseille has taken another turn for the worse after he was told to give way more by Habib Beye.

The 19-year-old signed for the Ligue 1 club during January and immediately gained the trust of old boss Roberto De Zerbi with a goal on his debut against Lens.

However, De Zerbis departure a month later who has subsequently taken over at Arsenals rivals Tottenham resulted in Beye being installed as head coach and Nwaneris opportunities have since been limited.

England U21 international Nwaneri has failed to start any of the last 11 matches and remained as an unused substitute in Marseilles 1-1 draw at home to Nice on Sunday.

When Beye was pressed on what Nwaneri needs to do to earn more minutes ahead of Marseilles final three games this season, the ex-Newcastle defender said: Hes a quality player, but he has to give us way more in his day-to-day commitment.

Other players gave way more.

Milan and Bayern intersted in signing Vlahovic

Latest from Sky Italy's Gianluca Di Marzio:

AC Milan and Bayern Munich are all interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic if he does not renew his Juventus contract this summer.

AC Milan are also ahead in the race to sign Leon Goretzka, whose contract at Bayern is coming to an end and will leave the club on July 1.

Bayern chief confirms Kane contract talks and rules out Olise departure

Bayern Munich will hold talks with Harry Kane about a new contract at the end of the season, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed.

Sky Germany reported earlier this year that Bayern were calm about Kanes situation with his current deal expiring in 2027 and had begun discussions with him about the future.

Now Rummenigge the Bayern supervisory board-member and former chief executive - says Kane has signalled he wants to stay at the club and negotiations will follow the end of the campaign.

In an interview with t-online in Germany, Rummenigge said: Bringing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich was a major coup in the club's history.

It's well known that he had a release clause. He didn't activate it, signalling that he would definitely stay in Munich.

And now, the relevant management in the operational area as agreed will hold talks with him sometime after the season, with the clear aim of extending his contract.

Harry has undergone another transformation under Vincent Kompany. He's always been a great striker who scored a lot of goals.

But now he's a playmaker, dropping back into midfield and using his wonderful long passes to bring Michael Olise and Luis Daz into the game. That's very important for our style of play.

Rummenigge is also the latest Bayern official to effectively rule out Michael Olise leaving the club this summer, even for an astronomical fee.

For a player like Olise, there's no price tag that would make us flinch, he said.

Webster to leave Bromley at the end of the season

Bromley captain Byron Webster will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The defender scored the winning penalty at Wembley in the National League play-off final as the Ravens were promoted to the Football League for the first time.

Just two years later, Bromley will be playing in League One next season in the most successful period in the club's history, spearheaded by Webster.

Carrick: Centre-back is not an area of concern ahead of transfer window

Michael Carrick says he does not have concerns about Manchester Uniteds central-defensive options heading into what looks to be a big summer at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are on the cusp of Champions League qualification having risen up to third under the head coach and plans are being worked on as they look to improve the squad.

United are keen to bring in two midfielders as popular Casemiro prepares to depart, while Tottenhams Micky van de Ven has been linked as the club reportedly look at the centre-back market.

A mixture of injuries and suspensions meant 19-year-old Ayden Heaven was the only recognised central defender for last Saturdays 1-0 win at Chelsea, but Harry Maguire will be back from a ban to face Brentford on Monday evening and Leny Yoro could also return.

Lisandro Martinez remains suspended following his red card against Leeds, having spent a lot of recent time out through injury, while Matthijs de Ligt has been laid low with a nagging back issue since November.

Its not an area of concern for me at this moment in time, Carrick said of Uniteds centre-backs.

At the moment and timing-wise talking about the summer and what goes beyond that, I think its difficult to elaborate on that really.

Licha (Martinez) is actually missing games for a different reason at the minute, which we wont go into, but I understand why you are asking it.

But, no, I havent got concerns. I think weve got a mixed blend there of experience, of real quality and some young Id say more than talented [players] really.

Two promising young players (Heaven and Yoro) that have already shown what they can do. I thought Ayden was fantastic last week in such a difficult game.

I havent got concerns as I sit here. Obviously, what the future looks like, I cant really get involved [in] because Im not sure myself.

In terms of Matta (De Ligt), hes working towards being fit again. Hes a little bit on the grass and its progress, but there is not much else I can say.

Its one of those injuries and hes rehabbing, hes working to get fit, so were hoping to have him back as soon as possible.

Carrick says everyone is hoping De Ligts progress keeps going in that direction and that there is a chance he can feature again before the end of the season, when the head coachs time at the helm is currently due to end.

The 44-year-old took charge in January until the summer and claims not to be chasing an answer about the job, even after catching up with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Carrington last week.

He came in, we had a chat, we had a cup of tea, Carrick said. Casual chat, to be honest. It was nice to see him, showing his support, obviously.

That was it. It was quite informal, but it was nice to see him.

I think as a football club, were hugely connected all the way through.

I think its a big part and Im really conscious of thats how it should be, and I am trying to do my part with that as well, as is everybody else, so Ive felt that since Ive been here since January, for sure.

Bayern won't make Jackson transfer permanent with striker set for Blues return

Nicolas Jackson will return to Chelsea this summer after Bayern Munich confirmed they will not make his move permanent.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl told German broadcaster ZDF that the club will not activate the permanent transfer clause in his deal.

The striker remains under long-term contract at Chelsea until 2033, having signed a two-year extension just 18 months ago.

Jackson is now expected to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, with a decision on his long-term future likely to be made over the summer.

Chelsea signed Liam Delap last summer as a replacement for the Senegal international - hes scored just one league goal so far this season.

Chelsea offer Shaw bumper deal

Chelsea have made a contract offer to Khadija "Bunny" Shaw worth at least 1million per year with the 29-year-old striker's Manchester City deal set to expire this summer, reports The Athletic.

Fabregas 'concentrating on Como'

Former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has insisted he is focused on his role at Como after the club's owner admitted he would not stand in his way if he wanted to take charge of the Premier League giants, claims the Daily Mail.
